The Transition Assistance Program (TAP) provides information, tools, and training to ensure Service members and their spouses are prepared for the next step in civilian life whether pursuing additional education, finding a job in the public or private sector, or starting their own business.
Department of Defense Transition Assistance Program (DODTAP) - This redesigned TAP is the result of an interagency collaboration to offer separating Service members and their spouses better, more easily accessible resources and information to make their transitions more successful.
Employer Support of Guard & Reserve (ESGR) - This Department of Defense office, was established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee's military commitment.
Nevada - Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve - NV ESGR is comprised of over 50 dedicated and trained volunteers and three full-time staff working throughout the Battle Born State to gain and maintain employer support for the Guard and Reserve. Our committee’s motto is “Whatever it takes!” And we apply this as we strive to develop and maintain relationships with Nevada employers and service members through programs such as Military Outreach, Employer Outreach, Mediation, and Employment programs.
Goals-Plans-Success (GPS) - Transition GPS (Goals, Plans, Success) is the Transition Assistance Program's outcome-based, modular curriculum with standardized learning objectives.
MilConnect - The milConnect web application is maintained by the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC). Available since December 2008, this application allows beneficiaries to review personal, health care, and personnel information from one reliable source, the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS).

Nevada National Guard Employment Initiative The National Guard Employment Enhancement Program (NGEEP) provides information on transition, educational benefits, resume preparation, job search tips, professional appearance and interview skills.
VA Transitional Assistance The purpose of the Transition Assistance Advisor (TAA) program is to provide a professional in each state/territory to serve as the statewide point of contact to assist Service members in accessing Veterans Affairs’ health care services and benefits. Each TAA also provides assistance in obtaining entitlements through the Military Health System and access to community resources.
Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program The Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program (YRRP) is a DoD-wide effort to promote the well-being of National Guard and Reserve members, their families and communities, by connecting them with resources throughout the deployment cycle.

Truckee Meadows Community College Veterans Upward Bound - For precollege placement testing and remedial education. Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) is a free educational program for qualified, honorably discharged veterans who meet the eligibility requirements. The program is sponsored by Truckee Meadows Community College and funded by the U.S. Department of Education. It is designed to assist veterans in preparing for success in college and other post-secondary training.
