About Us
Welcome and thank you for taking the time to visit the Nevada State SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) Council website. As the 2014 Director, I look forward to serving the State Council, SHRM and its Members, and representing Human Resource professionals and affiliates from the State of Nevada during my tenure. I truly respect and value the history and efforts of those who have preceded me in this role and look forward to continuing to serve the HR profession, and supporting the efforts of the 2014 NV State Council members, State Chapters, and numerous Volunteers.
First and foremost, I must recognize and thank the numerous volunteers who have served and will serve in representing the HR profession for our State. The NV State SHRM Council will continue to present numerous events, activities, and learning opportunities for our profession in 2014 and beyond. Our State Council Members, Committee members, and Volunteers work diligently create new experiences and programs for you. I encourage and appreciate your involvement and attendance at our events.
Membership growth in our Chapters will remain as one of our main goals in 2014 and beyond. It is necessary to continue to provide networking and development opportunities for our SHRM members throughout the State; we continue to offer low cost/high value resources for our HR professionals. The membership focus provides access to HR professionals and experts affiliated with SHRM, fellow professionals who work in different HR arenas, and exposure to vendors who support our profession. Additionally, we will continue to provide cutting-edge topics and educational services for professionals to grow their knowledge and experience in the Human Resources arenas. This year you will also see us taking steps to specifically focus on our Young Professionals/Emerging Leaders for our future.
